Why pretext?

Every card has different text and a different height. Traditional masonry libraries render hidden DOM nodes, measure them with getBoundingClientRect(), then position them — triggering expensive layout reflow. Pretext computes heights via pure arithmetic: layout(prepared, width, lineHeight) returns the height without any DOM. This means the entire 1000-card grid layout happens in <3ms, with zero reflows. Only visible cards exist in the DOM.
